New Mexico's Birds and Wildlife Need You!

The only way we’ll be successful in our conservation efforts is with your help.

We know that lawmakers care about your views and opinions. As a constituent, you have a unique ability to convey your concerns about issues affecting birds, wildlife and their habitats — and be heard like no lobbyist in Santa Fe or Washington, DC.

Helping is easy, won’t take much time, and most importantly, will go a very long way in protecting our wildlife!

  • Act Now to Protect New Mexico's Rivers
Governor Martinez has committed $1.5 million to protect the health of rivers and watersheds through the New Mexico River Stewards Initiative. This is a great first step, but more needs to be done. Send an email to Gov. Martinez today!
  • Protect the Endangered Gila River
Say NO to Expensive and Harmful Diversion projects on the Gila! Tell the Chairman of the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission, Jim Dunlap, that water diversion projects are too costly for the environment and for taxpayers.
  • Tell your Senator to Protect the Gila River
Help Senate Conservation Chair Peter Wirth (D. Santa Fe) and Senator Howie Morales (D. Silver City) protect the Gila River from a costly diversion and pipeline project by supporting Senate Bill 89.
  • Urge Governor Martinez to Protect Our Gila River
Send a strong message to Governor Martinez that a Gila River diversion project is unnecessary, expensive and will harm the free-flowing Gila River and the rich biological diversity and outdoor recreation economy that depends on it.
